  • Versailles Treaty

    This treaty ended the war between Germany and the Allied powers. This had Germany pay huge war reparations, disassemble their army, and basically say the whole war was their fault entirely.

    Warren Harding was a handsome, pleasant man who, in his inaugural adress, promised America to return to "normalcy". However, he was probably not fit to be president, because he had trouble making decisions on his own, and he trusted his freinds with very secret information which resulted in a huge mess.
  • Calvin Coolidge becomes president

    Calvin Coolidge becomes president
    Calven Coolidge becomes president when Harding dies. He generally a good president until his 16-year old son died, and he became a mess of grief and ilnesses.
  • Beer Hall Putsch

    Hitler and the Nazis staged an uprising in Munich wich was quickly ened and Hitler was sentenced to prison where he wrote Mein Kampf. This is significant because it gave him a sense of struggle, and, most importantly, patience.

    President Hindenburg appoints Hitler chancellor of Germany, and this is a lead up to his power.

    Hitler and Italian dictator mussolini from in alliance, later combined with Japan to create the Axis Powers
  • Hitler invades and takes over Rhineland

    Again in violation of Versailles, Hitler reoccupys Rhineland, however not one country makes an objection.
  • Hitler invades and takes Sudentenland

    Hitler invades Sudentenland and conquers it--one of his goals for the area's great resources-- and he later takes all of the Czechoslovakia.
  • Hitler/ Stalin Non- agression pact

    Hitler signs a non-agression pact with his enemy, the Stalin. Hitler did this so he could avoid a two-front war( which he was desperatley afraid of).

    The German invasion of Poland begins in September, while Polish people are defenseless agianst the strong German army. However, this is the 1st German act that intiates a response from the rest of the world.

    France finally gives up after a beating down by Germany and signs an armistice. Germany now occupys three- fifths of France.

    Germany launched a massive amphibious attack on Britain; dropping bombs everywhere. However the British fought back with extreme power and the Germans were stunned. Hitler decided to put the invasion on hold.
  • Hitler attacks the Soviet Union

    This large attack stretched on a front of 1,800 miles. Suprising everyone, The Germans were stopped by the Soviets.
  • Attack on Pearl Harbor

    Japanese Aircraft destroyed the U.S naval base at Pearl Harbpr, creating a devastting effect across America. on the same day, Japan began to attack the Philippines.
  • U.S declares war on Japan

    The events of Pearl Harbor brought the U.S into the war, which is a positive in a twisted way.
  • Battle of Midaway Island

    A turning point for America, th Battle of Midway Island is where America destroyed four Japanese aircraft carriers.
  • Battle of the Coral Sea

    This attack stopped Japanese forces and cleared Australia from the threat of invasion.
  • Battle of Stalingrad

    This terrible battle is what really set the Germans back. The Soviets atacked relentlessly and fiercly; causing Germany to lose the entire Sixth Army.
  • D-Day

    U.S troops under genral Dwight D. Eisenhower came to the Normandy beaches and fought what what is considered on of the bloodiest battles of all time.
