Since Britain had gone to War, therefore all colonies & dominions, such as Canada and Newfoundland, were automatically at War as well. -
Battle of Second Ypres
Canada's first major battle faced an explosion of poisonous chlorine gas, which lead to a third of the force, which is around 6,000 soldiers, to lose their lives, get injured or captured, however, Canada was able to maintain Germans away from their land, which meant that they defeated Germans at the Ypres battle. -
Womans Right to Vote
Since most men were helping at War, there weren't enough men in Canada to vote, therefore the rule came in. All veteran women relatives were able to vote in the Federal Elections.
