    Months 13-15 (Intellectual)
    Toddlers begin to form concepts, notices actions of other children and adults, and loves to mimic all actions. Toddlers have short memory and almost no forethought. They like to look at picture books and pats recognized pictures. Toddlers slowly increase their language to four to six words. They may attempt to imitate words others say. Toddlers may repeat sounds without knowledge of their actual meaning. Toddlers may recognize the names of major body parts. Toddlers may follow simple commands.

    Toddlers may stand alone without support for a short time. They may also cruise along furniture. They may take steps while holding onto the parents hands, and may be able to walk a few steps alone. Toddlers may crawl forwards and backwards with varying speed. They may crawl over small barriers.
  • 16-18 Months (Intellectual)

    16-18 Months (Intellectual)
    Toddlers gradually refines concepts and is very inquisitive about everything. Toddler's vocabulary increases to six to te words during this time. Toddlers also obey to commands like "Give it to me."

    Some toddlers may be able to sideways. Toddlers may show hand preferences in all activities. Also, toddlers like to grab anything and everything. They may work on jigsaw puzzles with 1 to 4 pieces.

    Toddlers walks sideways and backward.
    Toddlers love to run, climb, and jump.
    Toddlers may be able to kick a large ball without stepping on it.
    Toddlers responds rhythmically to music with whole body.

    Toddlers can remember familiar objects without seeing them. They may also be interested in tiny things such as bugs. Toddlers may learn to distinguish different sounds and smells. Also, may be able to complete a jigsaw puzzle of two to three pieces.

    Toddlers walk with more coordination.
    Toddlers like to walk on low wails and perform other stunts.
    Toddlers may be able to draw crude pictures and interpret what they are.
    They may be able to identify familiar objects on TV screen.

    Toddlers may be able to recall what is lost and where it might be.
    Toddlers recognizes when a picture is upside down.
    Toddlers have a vocabulary of 50+ words.
    Toddlers are interested in sound repetition.
    Toddlers can answer questions concerning the names of body parts.

    Toddlers are better able to plan a play activity and carry it out.
    Toddlers are able to interpret pictures drawn or painted.
    Toddlers can solve problems by imitating past actions.
    Toddlers like to listen to tapes and records of stories and songs.

    Toddlers begin to classify objects into general categories.
    Toddlers can remember and follow three-steps commands.
    Their vocabulary expands to 500-1000 words and toddlers can create two to three word sentences.
    Toddlers can use past tense and plurals.

    Toddlers goes up stairs by alternating feet, but goes down one foot at a time.
