America Declaration of Independance
Britain controlled most of the countires during this time, and they where known as 'The British Empire'. But there was a American Rebellion fighting against the British, fighting for freedom of the British Empire. Eventually the rebellion turned into a revolution, and on the 4th of July, 56 declartion signers sighned the Declaration making it offical that America was now a indpendant country, free from the British Empire. -
First Fleet to Australia
A fleet of 11 ships left England carrying 1480 men, women and children. There where many British, African, Frence and American convicts on board. Led by Captain Cook they arrived at Botany Bay, claiming the land part of the British Empire, belieivng there was no one else who found the land. This led to many conflicts between the British and the native Aboriginals, and then later the Federation of Australia. -
French Revolution
In France 97% of the population struggled to surive while the other 3% lived in wealthy and comftable life style. After the American Revolution it gave hope to all the peasents of Europe. The lower classes decided to rebel against the goverment to unify their country. In the end feudilisim fell, and the revolution also cleared a large path for Napolean to come to power. -
Napolean rise to power.
During the French revolution he rose fast up the milliatry ranks and in 1799 he gained political power and in 1804 he claimed himself as Emperor. He expanded the French empire and took control of many European countries. He also helped destore part of the British Empire. -
Steam Ship Invented
The first steamboat was tested on the 17th of August 1807. It traveled up the Hudson River in New York to Albany (150 miles) and it took 30 hours. The steam boat improved transport of goods and products. Also it improved our knowledge of the world. -
Communism Published
Karl Marx and Friedrich Engles met and realised they had similar principals and goals. So they developed the 'Communisim Manifesto'. They wanted to end captalisism feeling that it was a social class that ended up to the exploration of workers. Communsim is a form of government where a dictator rules everything and his rules are everyone rules. Many countries adopted this form of goverment, Germany was a communist country and they led the world to war. -
Telephone invented
Alex Graham Bell invented the telephone and the first words spoken where: "Mr Watson, come here, I want you".But Italian inventor Antonio Meucci also claimed to invent a electro transmittic device. But Alex Graham Bell was givin the right of the inventor of the telephone. The telephone gave a new meaning to communication and it helped improve buisness's, goverments's and social life. -
Electric Light Bulb Invented
Thomas Edison ivented the first electric lamp. And then from their on, came the light bulb. It improved our knowledge of energy and also improved the way we built buildings and buisnes's. Also power plants and electric transmisson's where created from the knew knowlodge we found with the light bulb. -
Australian Women's right to vote
South Australia was the first state in Australia to gain women the right to vote. It began with the women suffrage movement. It began socially and then politicaly and was passed through parliment during the 19th century. This was a huge stepping stone for Australia and it's equality in soceity. It will later change the way people treated the Australian native Aboriginals as well. -
First Olympics
Originally the Olympic Games where held in Greece, around about 776 BC. Barron Pierre de Coubertin was the founder of the Olympic committee. The first games had athletes from over 14 countries and brought the world together in a peaceful and friendly enviroment. It created entertainment through out the world. It was held in Greece, the original birth place of the olympic games.
