    The Bacon Rebellion was a rebellion lead by Nathaniel Bacon which was about a group of people going against the virginian colonial government for not letting them get revenge on the indians who attacked. This rebellion was the largest rebellion against a established authority, and that is going against them and wanting their own way and that is how this event led to the Civil War.

    The Cotton Gin that Eli Whitney invented made more cotton production which meant for more demand in cotton. Then picking cotton cost labor and the slaves where the labor which means for more slaves. Then many Abolitionist would get mad and grow tension and thats how this event led to the Civil War.

    The Missouri Compromise was proposed after Missouri was applying for statehood but when they applied they applied for a free sate but already had slavery. But when they applied as a free state there was much arguing and conflict but thats why the Missouri Compromise was proposed by Henry Clay to let Maine as a free sate and Missouri as a slave state. This event led to the Civil War from the upset of balance of power in free and slave states.

    The War started with America wanting to buy land from Mexico and offering them million's of dollars but Mexico refused and then they soon go to War. This War would lead to the Civil War because after America won the War they gained all the land which was a good thing, but further on caused tension of debating about the territory either being free states or slave states.

    The Wilmot Proviso is a proposed amendment during the Mexican-American War that their would be no slavery in the territory gained from Mexico. It failed to get passed and later was debated and just tension between the north and south rose about new statehood and that's how this event led to the Civil War.

    The Compromise of 1850 was established by Henry Clay and it was supposed to settle the dispute over the territory gained from Mexico about having free or slave states. But the ideology of the Compromise was only temporary since later on the decision still irrupted tension throughout America. It caused the tension in the south since their would no longer be slavery in Washington D.C. and all the new states would be free states and that is how this event led to the Civil War.

    Uncle Tom's Cabin was a anti-slavery novel written by Harriet Stowe in 1852 and it gave the American people a view point in what would be happening in the south with slavery. This event of publishing this novel led to the Civil War because this novel is what inflamed tensions between the north and south. This novel sold over 300,000 copies in less than 3 months that event Abraham Lincoln meet her about what she wrote.
  • Dred Scott v. Sanford

    Dred Scott v. Sanford
    Dred Scott was a slave in Missouri and lived in a free state later on and on his return to Missouri he sued the court for his freedom. The circuit court ruled Scott to be a free man but Sanford went to the state supreme court and they reversed the decision stating that property has no right to sue. This event led to the Civil War because this court case was the most controversial and notorious decision in history so far in that time.

    The attack on Harper's ferry U.S. arsenal was led by John Brown a white Abolitionist who had 18 men with him and there goal in attacking the arsenal was to start a southern slave uprising. This event led to the Civil War because when John Brown went forward with his plan and attacked the south got really scared and mad about the actions of anti-slavery men and more tension grew between the north and south.
  • Abraham Lincoln

    In the presidential election of 1860 Abraham Lincoln won and was elected president and as soon as he got elected South Carolina seceded in fear of what he might do as president and later 10 other states followed to secede. This event led to the Civil War because well that was the final straw for the south and just could not take it anymore with the new elected president and they seceded from the United States with others following.
