    Pilgrims and Plymouth Rock 1500's
    In the 1500's Europeans were migrating to the United States after Columbus' expedition through the Atlantic Ocean in 1492. The people were starting colonies in the United States such as Jamestown in now-a-days Virginia. Then new colonies started in now-a-days Massachusets known as Plymouth Rock.
  • The Industrial Revolution

    The Industrial Revolution
    The Industrial Revolution for the United States started in 1760 and ended around the year 1840. The Industrial Revolution was the transition to new manufacturing processes for items such as clothing, or music.
  • Revolutionary War

    Revolutionary War
    In 1775, the Revolutionary War began, and the next year in 1776 the colonies proclaimed their freedom by writing and publishing the Declaration of Independence that was written by Thomas Jefferson the 3rd President of the United States. In 1783, the United States had won the war against Great Britain with the help of France and became a new nation.

    During the Revolutionary War, to proclaim their freedom, the colonies wrote the Declaration of Independence which stated that they would not be a colony of Great Britain and would be their own separate independent nation.
  • The Louisiana Purchase

    The Louisiana Purchase
    Thomas Jefferson bought from France a large territory between the Mississippi River, and the Rocky Mountains. Thomas Jefferson had Meriwether Lewis, and William Clark exlpore the region to the west until they found an ocean or another country. After Thomas Jefferson had bought this land many Americans had started to believe in manifest destiny, the idea that the United States should own all the land between the Atlantic and the Pacific Ocean, and even some beyond that.

    The Civil War was started because the South (Confederates) didn't like Abraham Lincoln and how he acted. The Civil War broke out on April 12, 1861, after 11 Southern States seceded from the United States. At first the South won more battles and was pushing into the Northern U.S. But the South lacked one thing and that was people. Most people that lived in the South were farmers and most of the North were industrial workers. So overall the North had way more people. The South had better Generals.
  • WWI

    WWI
    WWI started when Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by Gavrilo Princip. The war started by Austria-Hungary declaring war on Serbia. The Ottoman Empire then asked for a treaty with Germany. The war broke out when everyone started allying with eachother, and when you ally someone you have to protect them as they will protect you, so when one person got attacked everyone went to help, and more conflict broke out. It was a fight between the Triple Entente and the Central Powers.

    The Great Depression was caused when the stock prices plumeted, and many people lost their money. It was a period of severe economic decline where businesses failed, and most of the United States didn't have jobs.
  • The Dust Bowl

    During the dust bowl the states Kansas, Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Colorado were effected. There was great drought because of the severe dust storms. Farming in the U.S. became smaller, and bread, eggs, and wheat became way more expensive.

    World War 2 was started when Germany under Adolf Hitler's control invaded Poland. Just like in World War 1 when an ally gets attacked everyone gets involved. Germany started to go on a rampage and conquer every country around with the help of Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria, Italy, and Japan. They fought against the Allies that was the U.K, the U.S., France, USSR, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Canada, China, Denmark, Greece, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Poland, South Africa, and Yugoslavia.

    The Cold War was the Arms Race, and military tension between the United States, and the Soviet Union.
  • 1st Moon Landing.

    1st Moon Landing.
    Apollo 11 was the spaceflight that landed the first humans on the Moon. Neil Armstrong, and Buzz Aldrin were the two astronaughts that landed on the moon. Neil's famous quote," This is one small step for man, but one giant leap for mankind." was heard across the nation.

    The World Cup began on June 12, 2014 and ended on July 13th. The best player was Lionel Messi, there were 171 total goals in the 64 matches. In the final match of the World Cup between Germany and Argentina it was 0-0 at the end. They went into extra time and Germany won 1-0
  • 2015 Super Bowl

    2015 Super Bowl
    This year on February 1st the 49th Super Bowl was held at the University of Phoenix's stadium. The two teams the competed were the New England Patriots, and the Seattle Seahawks. In the 4th quarter of the game, the Seahawks were at the 1 yard line about to win. Russell Wilson threw an interception to the New England Safety.
