    Great Awakening
    -It was important because it led to the colonists starting to want more freedom
    -The fact that preachers started holding revivials caused it
    -During the event, different preachers held revivals in the colonies and people from all over came and listened to therm
    -The colonists responded by wanting more freedom of government.
    -It led to people interacting more with church and the Christian religion
  • French and Indian War

    French and Indian War
    -It was important because in the end of the war, the French had to give most of their land to the British
    -The British wanting to gain more land led to the war
    -During the event, the French and British fought over land with the British gaining more land in the end
    -The British were happy with the end result of the war because they won and gained more land
    -It ended with the British winning the war. It led to the Proclamation of 1763

    -The event was important because it made the colonists angry and made them want freedom
    -The French and Indian war led up to this event; the British didn't want the colonies to settle past the Appalachian Mountains
    -During the event, the British banned any furthur settlement west of the Appalachians.
    -The colonists responded by being angry, and many hated the Proclamamtion
    -The event led to more conflict between the British and the colonists

    -It was important because it made the colonists have to start paying taxes on imported sugar and molasses and this didn't make them happy
    -It was caused because the British passed the act to pay off the expenses of the French and Indian War
    -During, the parliament made the colonists have to start paying taxes on molasses and sugar

    -The Stamp Act was important becasue it effected most colonists, making them have to pay for the special stamp on their goods
    -The Sugar Act and the Currency Act led up to the Stamp Act. It was caused by the colonists having no other ideas of ways to pay off their expenses of the French and Indian War, so the British made a solution for them.

    -The Stamp Act ended because of the boycotts the colonists made, so there wasn't enough trade with Britain. The British repealed it on March 1766

    -The Townshend Acts were important because during it the colonists had taxes plced on glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. These taxes led to tension, and eventually the Boston Massacre
    -The repeal of the Stamp Act led to it.
    -During the event, the British used writs of assisstance to enforce the Townshend Acts
    -The colonists thought the Townshend Acts took too much power away from colonial government and gave it to the royal officials.

    -The Townshend Acts caused this event. /the colonists didn't want to pay their taxes and were fighting with the British, and eventually the tension broke.
    -During the event, a British sentry got into a fight with a colonist and hit him, drwing a crowd. Someone yelled "Fire!" and the British who had gathered fired their guns at the colonists. In the end tought, only five people were killed.

    -During the event, The colonists dumped the 90,000 pounds of tea that was being shipped to them from Britain into the Boston Harbor
    -The colonists responded triumphantly, because they had succeeded in dumping the tea. The British were very upset about it

    -The colonists responded by calling for large scale boycotts, publishing propaganda, and they also covened the first Continental Congress

    -It was caused because the British wanted a war against Britain
    -During the evnt, spies signaled Paul Revere by lighting a lantern in the steeple of Boston's Church. He warned the colonists of the British
    -The colonists responded by fighting the British
    -The battle ended with eight minutemen dead and ten minutemen wounded
  • Battle of Bunker Hill

    -The Battle of Bunker Hill was important because it was a moral victory for the colonists
    -The Battle of Concord caused it because the British withdrew to Boston, where minutemen surrounded the city, causing the Batttle of Bunker Hill
    -During the event, the colonists and the British fought on Breed's Hill
    -The colonists first tried to fight back, but eventually retreated, realizing it would be impossible to beat the British
    -The fight ended, because the colonists retreated, hopelessly

    -Common Sense was important because it argued for breaking away from Britain and its ideas spread throughout the colonies
    -The Battle of Bunker Hill led up to this event
    -The pamphlet was written by Thomas Paine about how the colonies should seperate from Britain. Paine's ideas spread through the colonies as more and more people read his Common Sense document
    -The colonists responded to Paine's work by deciding it was time to make their freedom a reality

    -The British still wanted to control the country, but after the Treaty of Paris was made, this didn't happen anymore

    -The battle of Yorktown led to freedom for the patriots from the British

    -During the event, a treaty was signed and independence was granted to the colonists by defining the boundries of the new country
    -The colonists were glad for their new freedom. The British signed the treaty
    -The Treaty of Paris officially decided the war between the colonists and British was over
