    Great Awakening
    The Great Awakening was important because it changed religious as well as social and political, life in the colonies.
  • The French and Indian War

    The French and Indian War
    It was important because it was the first war with the Indians. The Indians were nto happy because the French were plotting forts on liad that was not theirs.
  • Proclamation of 1763

    Proclamation of 1763
    It was important because in the 1700s, settlers moved into the lands west of the Appalachian Mountians and south of the Ohio River. These lands were beyond the reach of colonial authority. Because they needed law and order in these new lands,some settlers established their government and made deals with the American Indians for some of their land.
  • Sugar Act

    Sugar Act
    It was important because it set duties, or taxes, on molasses and suger imported by the colonies. It led up to raise money for the army. During the event the colonist found out people were just trying to make money.
  • Stamp Act

    Stamp Act
    This event was important because it required them to to pay for an official stampm or seal, whenevere the bought paper items. It led up to colonist being mad at the government for taxing them on something they use everyday.During the event protest were going on. In the end they ended up taking away the tax but made a new law.
  • Townshend Act

    Townshend Act
    This event was important because it placed duties on imported glass, lead, paints, paper, and tea. The colonies did not respond well and used writs of boycott assistance. In the end they took everything away except tax on tea.
  • Boston Massacre

    Boston Massacre
    It was important because many people saw the presence of the British troops as a treat by the British government against its critics in Massachusets. During the event soldiers new they were not welcome. Both side resented each other and name calling, arguments and fights between Bostonions and the soilders were comman.

    It was important because the tax on tea was rasied. During the event the government put a tax on all imported tea from the colonies. People did not respond to this well.

    It wa important because colonist started to stand up for themsleves and did not want to pushed around by the British anymore. During the event colonist dumped 90,000 pounds of tea into the Boston Harbor. They did not respond very well to this in a result conflit struck,.

     Intolerable Acts
    Tihs was important because Parliamentdid not want to be overthron by the colonist so they put four new laws overthier heads until they payed for all the tea the dumped overboard.
  • Battle of Lexiton and Concord

    Battle of Lexiton and Concord
    This was important because the British were coming so the mintunemenwere worned and got ready to fight but they lost and the redcoats went into Concord and set fire to houses. Know one knows shot first but to this day everybody calls it " The shot herd around the world".
  • Battle at Bunker Hill

    Battle at Bunker Hill
    It was important because it demonstated that, despite superior Britsh firepower, they could withstand a frotal assault from the Britsh army. During the the event Colinist retreated but in some way they had won.

    It was important because it was an arguement in which colonist wanted to break away from Great Britan.
  • Battle of Saratoga

    Battle of Saratoga
    This was important because Burgoyne suffered a major defeat to Patriot troops under General Horatio Gates and Benedict Arnold. It happened because they ran into each other accidentally.
  • Battle of Yorktown

    Battle of Yorktown
    This event was important because the British wanting further increase their hold on the Southern Colonies. Lafayette along with General Friedrich Von Steuben and Anthony Wayne waited for the British to make a move.
  • Treaty of Paris

    Treaty of Paris
    It was important because with Cornwallis' surrender at Yorktown the Patriots had captured the largest British force on the continent. The treaty also laid out the new nations borders.
