Put ideas on paper to share! No more walls! Walls can compartmentalize our campus and our thinking. Students go to multiple locations on campus for singular purposes. The Learning Commons is a ‘one stop learning spot’. It is here that the metaphoric walls are taken down and real world learning and application can occur. Students will use 21st century skills to learn in multiple locations with the tools needed to be successful. In the Learning Commons, students' focus will be the 4 C's. -

Some initial ideas include opportunities and experiences in the following; tech exploration (3D/Raspberry Pi), broadcasting/filming, makerspace, photography, virtual field trips, live webcams, foreign language stations, civic mindedness, philanthropy, mindfulness, metacognitive thinking/learning, journalism,publishing, projects, presentations, etc. -
Prepare Students for 21st century with Digital Citizenship Skills & Knowledge
All students in grades K-6 will participate in age and skill appropriate learning of our Digital Citizenship Program. -
BRING IT! Campaign
After completion of Digital CItizenship Program wtih K-6 students, we are ready for them to take learning from home to school and from school to home. Walls down allows learning to be seamless! -

Newer and cheaper tech will be available in 3 years. -
The Learning Commons is now a Common Thing!
Students regularly use the Learning Commons and exercise their skills at solving real world problems/issues that are meaningful to them. The local high school, the senior community and local businesses are all contributors and benefactors. The Learning Center has become a 'HUB' for more than just Valley View elementary students.
