    The sequel to The Last of Us. This game opens with the murder of the protagonist from the last game. This was controversial as many people loved Joel and felt that his death wasn’t necessary.
    One of the main societal reactions was to the fact that the main character of The Last of Us 2, Ellie, was homosexual. Joel was the main character of the first game and a father figure to Ellie. His death caused a huge controversy.
  • Resident Evil Village

    This is a single-player story Game where you play as a man named Ethan who is trying to find his daughter Rose.
    This horror game supplies gore and dismemberment to the player during combat. Many of the enemies will lose limbs during fights, and this further showcases the lack of care or reaction that our culture has to violence.
  • Mortal Kombat 12

    This is the twelfth main installment in the Mortal Kombat series and is its second reboot after 2011’s Mortal Kombat. Mortal Kombat 1 features a story mode, online multiplayer, and offline gameplay. The game introduces a feature called Kameo Fighters, which assists the player during fights.
    This game showcases the desensitation of violence in our culture.
  • Helldivers 2

    Developed by Arrowhead Game Studios, published by Sony Interactive Entertainment.
    This is a four-player co-op game where the player heads to different planets and liberate them from hostile forces. The game has brought together thousands of players into a force fighting for something more.
    The game brainwashes its player base into being democratic, spreading freedom fighters without a second thought, making violence the only resolution.
