Vladimir Lenin was born in the quiet town of Simbrisk, but it was later named Ulyanovsk in his honor. Lenin was named after St. Vladimir; the first Christian ruler of Russia. His father was IIya Ulyanovsk, a Russian public figure who was in the field of education. His mother was Maria Alexandrovna Ulyanova, who became a elementary school teacher, leading upp to her meeting IIya. This is significant in Vladimir Lenin's life because it was the day he was born. -

Assassination of Tsar Alexander II.
Tsar Alexander ll was killed by a bomb detinated by a group of three terrorists known as "Narodnaya Volya"- The People's Will. This wasn't the first attempt to assasinate the Tsar, numerous attacks had been attempted. This world event is important because it was one of the frist recorded acts of terrorism, a group of deliquients assasinated the dirty Tsar while he was messing up Russia's economy. Overall this was a positive and awarding event in history. -
Death of Ilya Nikolayevich Ulyanov, Lenin's Father.
Ilya was only fifty-four at the time of his death, he was found in his study by his wife who called the children in. His fathers death played a major role in how he turned out as a ruler in the future. This was important in Lenin's life because his fathers's death was a huge part of the decisions he made following the tragic event. -
Alexander Ulyanov, Lenin's brother; hanged in St. Petersburg.
Alexander Ulyanov was part of a terrorist group which unsucessfully tried to assasinat tsar Alexander III, this stunt led to him being hanged for his crimes. This was important in Lenin's Life because the death of his brother ultimatly led Lenin to think communism was the only way to solve societies problems. -

Lenin gets involved in a student protest at Kazan University, he later gets expelled from the university. This was important in Lenin's life because Kazan is where Lenin's father graduated from, this school is also one of the reasons he pursued communism. -

Lenin meets his idol, Plekhanov; he then gets arrested for revolutionary activites. This was important in Lenin's life because he was arrested with the other members of the union and jailed for a year, then exiled for a span of four years. When he got out he returned to his revoluntionary activites. -

Lenin marries Nadezhda Krupskaya in Shushenslave, Siberia. This is around when he starts to write in the name of Lenin, this is important in Lenin's life because his marriage to her helped him gain power. He married her right after his exile to Siberia. -

Vladimir's exile ends, he moves to Munich Germany, to oversee the publication of Iskra; which was a newpaper he co-founded. This is important in Lenin's life because after exile, Lenin then continued his revolutionary activites; he returned to St. Petersburg and stepped up his leadership. -

Bloody sunday of 1905, Lenin returs to St. Petersburg Russia on November 21st 1905. This is an important event in his life because his return to St. Petersburg lead to the protests at the City hall, setting the stage for the Russian Revolution. -

The April Thesis Advocates the over throw of provisional government and calls for soviet state control. This is important in Lenin's life because it was one of his greatest accomplishments, he developed the these and it urged the Bolshevik party to withdrawl their support of the provisional government. Which gave Lenin more power. -

Austria-Hungary declared war on Serbia on July 28th. On August 1st Germany declared war on Russia, France then violated Belguim, bringing Great Britian into war as well. This is significant to world history because it ruined three dynistyes and unleshed the revolutionary forces of Bolshevism. -

On April 6th, 1917 the United States joined its Allies in war, this event is significant in World History because it brought about change in America and lead to the overall revolution between the countries. -
The End of WW1
The final push had started on October 17th 1918, the central allies crumbled along with Germany. On November 9th, Kaiser slipped into the Netherlands for exile. This was important in world history because it started our push to reform, the end of world war 1 was only temporary because world war 2 started soon after. -

Signs the treaty of Brest-Litovsk with Germany, which begins a civil war with Whites; this begins what is now called the reign of terror. This event was significant in world history because it caused Germany to loose its territorial gains. -

The New economic policy was created after Lenin was convinced they needed to retreat from socialist policies in order to maintain control of power.
