    William Hull entered the north part of Canada thinking that they would not resist them. When he reached Canada he issued this Proclamation saying that he oesn't want to make enemies he simply wants to find them. This plan eventually failed.

It was an even larger milestone because it was fought on the water and the US navy defeated the British navy. The British were under Captain George Downie and the Americans were under Master Commandant Thomas Macdonough.

    The Battle of Baltimore was an attack on the 3rd largest city in America. The British has a captive in their ship, during the attack he saw how the fort was defended and wrote the star spangled banner. The Americans eventually defended Baltimore.

    The Treaty of Ghent was signed on December 24, 1814. It officially ended the War of 1812, and returned the United States and Britain to their original agreement before the war.
  • Battle of New Orleans

    Although the Treaty of Ghent was already in place due to slow communication the Battle of New Orleans still raged on. The United States army was lead by General Andrew Jackson and the British army was lead by Sir Edward Pakenham. In little over half an hour, Britain lost nealy 2,000 (missing, dead, or wounded) and the Americans had 8 dead and 13 wounded. This however did not have any effect upon the war, but it did boost nationalism. This would become the last armed conflict with the US and UK.
