    Tomas Jefferon had won the year before and desided to run for reelection. He won againts Chareles Pickley 162 Jefferson to 14 Pickley. Jefferson got 92% of the votes.

    Britian was stopping and searching ships for the supplies, men, and food. The Embargo act 1807 stopped trade with everyone ouside ouside the United states because of what Britian was doing and the money they where looseing because of it.

    James Madison was eleected on March 4, 1808. He was the 4th president of the United States and the last of the Founding Fathers to be President. He was also known as the Father of the Constitution.

    The Treaty of Ghent was sighed on Dcember 24, 1814. It was the end of the war and fixed the conflict with the 2 countries. The treaty was approved by Prince Regent. It took a month for the word of the peace treaty to reach the United States.
  • Battle of New Orleans

    The Battle of New Orleans was a battle that happened durning the signing of the Treaty of Ghent. This was the very final battle of the war of 1812. This battle was a series of engagements fought between December 24, 1814, and January 8, 1815, together constituting the final major battle. This battle would have not been fought if the word of the treaty signing had not gotten out fast.
