What a lot of people may not notice about this piece is that the vase is Chinese, while the flowers are actually from multiple different parts of the globe. Attention to detail on the artwork within the vase and the petals of the flowers shows how dedicated this artist is. Despite the dark background the tone of this piece is light and positive, the artist is bringing different cultures together. The fig at the bottom is a sacred symbol, they are an ancient fruit often mentioned in the bible.

Merry Trio (1629) is full of color and life. Almost every single piece has smiling subjects, and it makes the tone of her work very light, happy and bright. The piece has 3 young men laughing, drinking, and playing music while other look on smiling, which made me smile as well, they are having a good time. The different colors of their outfit make the painting stand out and gives it that bright tone. The artist wants to make people smile, and I can say the artist has succeeded.
