    In May off 1839, Charles Darwin published his first book, " the Voyage of the Beagle". Darwin was 22 years old at this time and setting sail to make an extraordinary expedition on the ship called HMS Beagle. His job was to gather specimens on shore of rocks, plants, fossils, and animals. Darwin main research was made in South America and Galapagos island off the coast of Ecuador. In 1835 Darwin gathered enough information to support as evidence in his theory of evolution by natural selection.

    In 1842, Charles Darwin published his book, "The Structure and Distribution of Coral Reefs".This set the blueprint for his theory of the formation of coral reefs and atolls. During this time, coral reefs were a popular and emerging topic in science, sparking his interest tin the subject. He concluded in his research that, various types of atolls and coral reefs can be explained by uplifts and subsidence of the crust of the earth beneath the ocean.

    In 1859, Darwin published one of his most famous books, "On the Origin of Species. This was considered to be the foundation of evolutionary biology, and was very influential in science. Here he introduced the theory that a species evolves and adapts over time, and highlights biodiversity. He also introduced natural selection and divergence in this book. He provided evidence of competition between species and the consequences and advantages of population growth.

    Darwin discusses the similarities and differences of domestication in plants and animals. One of the chapters he discusses the similarities of wild dogs and domestic dogs. This leads on to proving after research on following the genes to supporting his thesis on natural selection.
