Country Dressmaking (1925). In this piece we see a young woman being fitted for a dress while an older woman looks on, I presume that is her mother. During the early 20th century arranged marriages were still at play and I get the feel from this piece that this is a mother trying to dress up her daughter for her suitor. The use of black and white gives it a more a darker tone. The expression on the young girls face goes with the dark tone of the piece.

Nude Study (1934). I was drawn to this piece because of the women and her body shape, I like how I can relate to her body type, she isn’t too petite she has imperfection (belly rolls) which I can relate too. The light tones on the canvas blend really well and give off a neutral tone. The woman is also in the comfort of her home and looks relaxed and peaceful.
