    On November 30, 1874, Winston Churchill was born to Lord Randolph Churchill and Lady Randolph Curchill. He was born in Blenenheim Palace in Oxfordshire, England. His aristocrat parents gave him of childhood of wealth and privilege (Nathan).

    Churchill's first book
    In the year 1898 Churchill wrote his first book, The Story of the Malakand Field Force. This book was based on Churchills' experiences as a press correspondant in India during a dispute over a land border. He wrote the book based on his experiences with the expedition and to gain recognition and fame (Franson). This was the first of many books that Churchill wrote and was very significant to his wrting career because of its popularity in Europe (Morse).

    Churchill Joins the Liberal Party
    In 1904 Churchill joined the Liberal Party in the British government. His main accomplishments in politics prior to World War Two took place during this time. These accomplishments include trade protections and unemployment insurance legislation. In 1910 he became Home Secratary and in 1911 he became Lord of Admirality (Morse). His experience in government made him well known and appreciated in Britain. This gave him a popular reputation which lead to him being chosen as Prime Minister in 1940.

    During WWI Churchill did not like watching the British troops stay at a standoff on the Western Front as they were picked off over time. He planned to cut off the Ottomans from Germany. This would allow Britain to focus all of their might on Germany rather than having to worry about the Ottomans. The raid was stalled when the naval commander was replaced, which allowed Turkey to regroup and defeat the British army. This made Churchill lose popularity and leave the British Parliament (Klein).

    On October 29, 1929, the stock markets crashed and the investors shares became useless. This made people lose all of their money in the bank and set the industrialized world into a period of economic depression. Many people were put out of work and lacked the basic necessities to life. This depression continued until WWII, which required industry made equipment and put people back to work ("The Great Depression").

    Before, during, and after WWII, technology was focused more than ever before on innovations in transportation, communication, and fighting. One of these was the usage of hydrogen as a fuel source. This was tested by the Germans in the "Hindenburg" blimp that engulfed in flames on its first flight. This was because of the combustability of hydrogen when exposed to heat. This was a major scientific breakthrough at the time, revealing that hydrogen was not a good fuel source (Hindenburg).

    Churchill became Prime Minister of England in the beginning of WWII. He was the replacemant to the previous prime minister, Neville Chamberlain. Chamberlain Wanted to appease Nazi Germany and was clearly unable to defeat them when they grew. Chamberlain resigned and the position was givern to Churchill. Churchill was fully capable of defeating Germany. As Prime Minister he organized the defeat of Nazi Germany and saved
    Europe from the tyranny ("Churchill Becomes Prime Minister").

    Within days of becoming Prime Minister, Churchill delivered his "Blood, Toil, Sweat and Tears" speech to establish the new leadership in Britain. After Neville Chamberlain's weak rule against the growing Nazi Germany, Britain was in need of a powerful leader. Churchill proved that he was that leader in this speech. He dicussed how Germany would be defeated and how Britian was a strong nation. This was the first of many important speeches to restore confidence and hope in Britain (Rothman).

    On June 17, 1940, Churchill addressed Britian to notify them that they would not stop fighting until Hitler was defeated. This rallied the British people and made them eager to defeat the tyranny and defend their country. This was important to Britian's victory becasue the spirit of the people is the most important thing in a war. If the poeple didnt see a purpose in fighting they wouldn't have, and the nazis would have won (Morse).

    During Churchill's service as prime minister he worked with other world powers to defeat Germany. He warned that if the war went on for much longer the troops would become sick of war and countries would run out of money. This is why he called for fast action to defeat Germany. His plan was to invade the beaches of Normandy to push back Germany, and it worked. His and FDR's plan successfully conquered the beaches, which started the retreat and defeat of Germany ("Churchill and FDR Plot D-Day.")

    Following the end of WWII Churchill warned other countries of the growth of the Soviet Union. This growth was called the Iron Curtain because a boundary was being put up between communist Russia and the rest of the democratic countries. This was Churchill's prediction of the cold war and warned other countries that were recovering economically on the dangers of Communist Russia (Chen).

The movement was successful in giving blacks the rights to respect, daily services and many other trivial things that they didnt have the right to use at their will before. This showed the country how poorly blacks were treated and that change is possible (Civil Rights Movement).

    On February 3rd, 1959, a plane containing 3 of the biggest rock sensations of the 50s crashed in midwest United States. The four people killed were Buddy Holly, Ritchie Valens, The Big Bopper, and the pilot, Roger Peterson. Their tragic deaths significantly changed American culture by eliminating some of the main innovators of music at the time and influencing other hit songs such as "American Pie" to be written("The Day the Music Died").

Their arrival in New York grew their popularity in the United States and drastically changed the American culture, adding a new style of rock that was only found with the Beatles. They created a generation of peace lovers in America that started a new movement in protest to wars and fighting (Spitz).

    On January 24, 1965, Winston Churchill died in his house in England. His health had been deteriorating for the past decades until a severe stroke ended his life. His deteriorating health was kept secret so it would'nt be used to criticize his performance. His poor health made him retire from his position as prime minister in 1955. His death brought great sorrow on all the people that recognized his importance, and he is remebered by all as one of
    the most important people to ever live (Chen).
