    The Hominids
    The first people were largely nomadic groups. They hunted and gathered for their food and resources. They originated in Africa where they slowly spread across the world and started forcing each other to be less nomadic due to the lack of resources.

    The First Civilizations

    The First Civilizations
    The first official civilizations were created around 3000 BCE in Mesopotamia. These were the first urban centers of living that were mainly possible because of the creation of agriculture. There were few to no rules in these early civilizations.

    Early Egypt

    Early Egypt
    The Old Kingdom was created when the third royal dynasty to rule all of Egypt was created. In this dynasty, Egypt was ruled by a set of kings who oversaw the construction of many of Egypt's largest projects such as the pyramids. They were able to make these projects by convincing their subjects that they were gods.

    Middle Egypt

    Middle Egypt
    The middle kingdom was mainly used to expand the power of Egypt over the rest of the area. They used their military force to capture outside territories and acculturated the citizens of those territories. This brought more money and talent into Europe

    Hittites

    Hittites
    The Hittites were a country that became very powerful during the Bronze Age due to their creation of the chariot. They challenged Egypt for the strongest civilization at the time. Unlike the Egyptians, the Hittites did not try to change other cultures instead they tried to learn from them.

    Bronze Age Greece

    Bronze Age Greece
    The Bronze age Greeks were primarily made of two societies the Minoans and the Myceneans. The Minoans were a more artistic and cunning society while the Myceneans were more warlike. This forced partnership worked very well for these Greek societies. They were major players in trade and a threat to fight and beat anyone.

    Roman Republic

    Roman Republic
    The Roman Republic was a very powerful civilization and one of the first civilizations to use a republic as its government. The republic had multiple levels that each made different decisions based on their level. The Roman Republic was also a powerful force on the military side of things. They controlled much of Europe and even took over Greece eventually.

    Persians

    Persians
    The Persians came into power in about 550 BCE when they captured their first territory. This began their conquest across the Middle East where they ruled with tyranny. They maintained power by brutally putting down rebellions and keeping a military presence near its citizens..

    Classical Greece

    Classical Greece
    The Classical Age Greeks were an extremely powerful and innovative society. They controlled much of Europe at their peak and had an extremely large army to defend the land. They were innovative in the way that they ran their country. They were one of the first countries to use democracy to run their country. They had a large polis where the people could vote on the big issues. They were also innovative in their ideas. There were many renowned philosophers that came out of Classical Greece.

    Roman Empire

    Roman Empire
    The Roman Empire is when Rome hit its peak. It controlled almost the entirety of the Mediterranean Sea and much of its surrounding area. The dictatorship made the empire much stronger when there was a good emperor but there was a lot of time through the empire where there was not a good emperor.
