Magellan set out for his trip around the world. He had 270 ship members and came back with only 18. It took 3 years for the ship to return. Magellan himself was killed on the voyage but it proved how big the world really is and how dangerous the ocean is. -

Phillip II was born May 21, 1527. His reign included the failure to expand Spain. His death in 1598 was the end of his rule. -

In the 1600's Henry VIII founded the Anglican Church. This is so his marriage would be annulled. The Pope then had to approve of the annulment. -
