    Founding of the Triple Entente
    The Triple Entente was what they called the alliance between Russia, France, and Great Britain. It was named after they signed the Anglo-Russian Entente, which ended a long struggle for power that had not benefited the lesser-developed regions throughout Central Asia. They made agreements with the United States, Spain, Brazil, Portugal, and Japan to go with the Triple Entente.

    Archduke Franz Ferdinand, heir to the Austro-Hungarian throne, was shot dead in Sarajevo. Gavrilo Princip, one of six assassins, was the only one whose bullet pierced him. The assassins, some of the members of the clandestine tunnel, and the main Serbian military conspirators who had lived from the incident were arrested by officers, tired by a judge in a trial, convicted, and then punished.

    The Treaty of Brest-Litovsk was a peace treaty signed by Russia and the Central Powers. The treaty was helped by a little relief to the Bolsheviks. They were in the middle of fighting the Russian Civil War. It also made the independence of Finland, Estonia, Latvia, Belarus, Lithuania, and Ukraine actually affirmed.

    The 2nd Battle of the Marne was the last big Spring Offensive during World War 1. It was a failed attack by the Germans because a counteroffensive made by the French and Americans was too much for the Germans.
