    Germany invades Poland
    Hitler used the blitzkerig strategy and Stalin's aid to take over Poland. Britain and France could not reach Poland on time to rescue them.

    France surrenders to Germany
    Hitler used his blitzkreig strategy to capture France. France had easily given up a couple days later by signing an armistice and Hitler had achieved his revenge.

    This battle had been a tough one for the British but they never gave and had fought till the to win. Even though Germany used their best strategy (blitzkrieg) they had lost against Britain.

    By joining hands, Germany Italy, and Japan have become stronger. Even though they were strong when it came to weapons they were weak compared to the Allies because all of them wanted different things while the Allies wanted to end the war.

    The Atlantic Charter is signed
    To help Britain (a country part of the Allies) FDR decided to sign the Atlantic Charter which was a document that endorsed international system of "general security". By signing this document strengthened America and Britain's alliance.

    The Japanese had killed 2500 people and destroyed tons of America's aircraft and aircraft carriers. This surprise attack had shook America to the core. This event lead to America declaring war against Japan.

    This major naval battle went on for 4 days and was the first naval battle fought in the middle of a storm (nothing could be seen) in the Pacific. The Americans had fought so well in this war that Japn had call off its attack on New Guinea.

    Just like the Britains, the Soviets didn't give up either. They had been successful in driving the Germans out of Russia.

    This battle was Germany's counterattack on the Allies because they could capture several key towns. Even though the weather was really bad America held its spot and when the skies cleared the Allied bombers attacked the German positions.

    America bombed Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945 which had killed thousands in 2 minutes. Then on Aug. 9, 1945 the Soviets declared war on Japan and America had again bombed Japan at Nagasaki with their atomic bomb killing thousands.

    Emperor Hirohito (Japanese) decided to surrender after many debate sessions took place with the Japanese government. This day became known V-J Day in America. America had been waiting for this day since the Pearl Harbor attack and they had been successful.
