    In 1933, Jiang gathered army of at least 700,000 men.
    Jiang’s army surrounded Communists’ mountain stronghold
    Chinese Communist Party was outnumbered and realized about to be defeated. 100,000 Communist forces fled and began Long March. The Long March was a 6,000-mile journey made in 1934-5 by Chinese Communists fleeing from Jiang Jieshi’s Nationalist forces. ⅔ died from hunger, cold, exposure & battle wounds.

    After signing non aggression pact, Hitler moved ahead w/ plans for Poland. On September 1, 1939, German tanks and trucks crossed Polish border while aircraft and artillery began bombing of Poland’s capital, Warsaw. On September 3rd, France & GB declared war on Germany, but Poland fell before nations could militarize and help. Hitler annexed western ½ of Poland (w/ large German population).

    In the morning of December 7, 1941, Japanese attacked Pearl Harbor in Hawaii. The US knew from message that an attack might come but they didn't know when or where. 19 ships sunk and were damaged (including 8 battleships), 2300 killed, 1100 Americans were wounded. On December 8, 1941, President Roosevelt addressed congress and they accepted his request of war on Japan and its allies.

    In March 1945, Allies crossed Rhine River & in April, Allies approached Berlin. On April 25, 1945, Soviets surrounded Berlin . Hitler prepared for his end as Soviets bombed the city. On April 30, Hitler & Eva committed suicide & bodies later burned. On May 7, 1945, Eisenhower accepted unconditional surrender of Third Reich from German military.

    Allies use atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki
    On August 6, 1945, the US dropped an atomic bomb on Hiroshima with a population of 350,000 ppl. 70,000-80,000 died immediately and overall 210,000 related deaths. On August 9, 1945, the 2nd atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki with a population of 270,000 ppl. 70,000 ppl were killed immediately and radiation killed even more.
