    Japan invades China

    Japan's invasions of China during the 1930s initiated and then expanded the largest war fought between two countries during the twentieth century. For Japan, this was a war fought for resources and geopolitical position. For China, it was a war for national survival. Japan possessed a powerful modern army and pursued a strategy of quick decisive victory. China responded with masses of soldiers and traded space for time in an attrition strategy.
  • Munich agreement

    The Munich agreement was and agreement made by the main powers of Europe (excluding the Soviet Unionand Czechoslovakia) of the territorial land "Sudetenland". This land was taken from Germany and was on the border of Germany and Czechoslovakia. This was a failed attempt of appeasement by Europe.The purpose of the conference was to discuss the future of the Sudetenland in the face of ethnic demands made by Hitler.
  • The Non-Agression Pact

    Nazi Germany and the Soviet Union met and signed the Nazi-Soviet Non-Aggression Pact on August 23, 1939 which guaranteed that the two countries would not attack each other. By signing this pact, Germany had protected itself from having to fight a two-front war in the soon-to-begin World War II; the Soviet Union was awarded land, including parts of Poland and the Baltic States. This pact did not last and Germany eventually attacked the Soviet Union.

The battle most people would say was won by the british because they never let the germans gain air superiority.

There were about 42,500 facilities in Germany and German-occupied territories that were used to concentrate, confine, and kill Jews and other victims.   • Lend-Lease Act

    The Lend Lease Act was an act which the United States supplied France, Great Britain, the Republic of China, and later the USSR and other Allied nations with food, oil, and materiel between 1941 and August 1945. It was signed into law on March 11, 1941 and ended in September 1945. In general the aid was free, although some hardware (such as ships) were returned after the war. In return, the U.S. was given leases on bases in Allied territory during the war.

    The Bataan death march was the forcible transfer of American war prisoners from Saisaih Pt. and Mariveles to Camp O'Donnell by the Imperial Japanese, after the three-month Battle of Bataan in the Philippines during World War II. About 2,500–10,000 Filipino and 100–650 American prisoners of war died before they could reach their destination. This was a brutal death march forced by the Japanese.

    THis was an important battle between Germany and Soviet Union for the town Stalingrad on the boundery of eastern Europe. THis battle consisted of many air raids on civilians. THis battle is known as one of the bloodiest and groosum battes of the history of warfare. This was an important turning point in the war for the allied powers. Germany withdrew much of their military force.

    This invasion happened on December 16, 1944 after a sucessful Dday invasion by the allied powers. The war seemed almost over until this day when the germans went on an offense attack on a small group of ill prepard allied powers. The americans were not prepared for this battle especially in the harsh conditions of winter. This was hitlers last chance for the war to continue in his favor. He sent out over 200,00 german soldiers and 1,000 tanks. He also sent out heavy airforce attack.

    The Battle of Iwo Jima was a major battle in which the United States Armed Forces landed and eventually captured the island of Iwo Jima from the Japanese Army. The American invasion, designated Operation Detachment had the goal of capturing the entire island, including the three Japanese-controlled airfields, THis would give us the area we needed for attacks on the Japanese main islands.

    The 82-day-long battle lasted from early April until mid-June 1945. After a long campaign of island hopping, the Allies were approaching Japan, and planned to use Okinawa, a large island only 340 mi away from mainland Japan, as a base for air operations on the planned invasion of Japanese mainland. Their invasion was supported by naval, amphibious, and tactical air forces.The battle was one of the bloodiest in the Pacific.

Within minutes of the announcment tens of thousands of people crowded the streets of new york in celebration. Even thugh this was a great victory, america still had to be reminded that the war was not yet over. We still had the war in the pacific with Japan to win.

    The Warsaw Pact was a collective defense treaty among eight communist states of Central and Eastern Europe in existence during the Cold War. It was primarily motivated by Soviet desires to maintain control over military forces in Central and Eastern Europe; in turn meant to maintain peace in Europe, guided by the objective points and principles of the Charter of the United Nations. After the collapse of the USSR and the end of the Cold War, the alliance was transformed into the subsequent CSTO.
