A German U-Boat sunk the British liner of the Irish coast and killed over 1,100 people. 128 of these people were U.S. citizens. This was a major catalyst for invloving the Americans in the war. -
German sabotage of Black Tom in Jersey City, New Jersey
THe Germans sabotaged the munitions delivery in Jersey. They did not want the United Stated to aid the British in the war effort. They destroyed a lot of property, killed many people, and caused around 75 million dollars in damage. -

President Woodrow Wilson was ready for the fighting to stop. He set sail to go to the Peace conference in Paris, France. This is where he would sign the Treaty of Versailles. -

This was a Treaty to bring peace to the nations. It was signed by France, U.S., Germany, and many other countries. This was to make sure there was no more fighting.
