    Italy Invades Ethiopia
    Italy is still upset about their loss to Ethiopia in 1896,so they decided to get back at them by invading Ethiopia. Although the Ethiopians fought back, their outdated weapons were no match for the Italians tanks, poison gas, machine guns, and airplanes. This is important because it shows that italy wasn't going down without a fight whereas before they were the country that got beat up alot, so by them going after Ethiopia it shows that they are strong willed

    After Japan's easy success invading Manchria their army strengthened they took over much of eastern China which in turn started the second Sino-Japanese War. We chose this because by the japanese taking over China and ignoring the fact that the aggression stopped this sparked the Second japanese war.

    The Germans had devised plans for the ''Final Solution'' of the Jewish problem. This is important because this is what caused the Holocaust. Also the jews had to suffer greatly due to the Germans.

    Hitler nullified the Nazi-Soviet pact by invading the Soviet Union in operation Barbarossa. This event is significant because Hitler wanted to not only invade the Soviet union but to also defeat his rival Stalin.

    Japanese gain control of the phillipines. 10,000 american and Filipino soldiers were killed during the 65 mile Bataan Death March. This event was chosen because it goes to show how the Japanese treated the people of the Phillipines and in return they got attacked by the U.S.

    Battle of Midway started. The Americans destroyed four carriers, and destryed more than 250 planes. This event is important because this was just one of the many plane fights that went on during the war.

    Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin met at the Yalta conference to discuss that the Soviet Union would attack Japan, and they would take possession of islands in Korea. This is Important because this would lead up to the attack on Japan and making the Soviet Union do something for the sake of not just their country but the U.S.

This is important because if more bombs dropped then Japan wouldn't have even existed. Although the Emperor didnt want to surrender he realized that in order for the bombs to stop he had to surrender.

    The Truman Doctrine
    Truman outlines a new policy called the Truman Doctrine. It's important because this policy basically would put a stop to communists taking over the Soviet Union.

This event is significant because Roosevelt and Churchill proposed that Stalin should let the people have free elections, but he opposed that just like the Nazi's it caused the communists to take over

    The U.S., Canada, and a few others formed the N.A.T.O alliance pledging to help one another when one was attacked. Importance was Stalin had refused to let Germany rebuild its self, so this organization had to take precaution just in case the western came across them.
