Germany Invading Poland
When invading Poland, The Germans used the form of Blitzkrieg to take it quickly, and meet Russian troops in the middle. They did this by bombing the area, then coming in with troops and tanks. This triggered the start of war with Britain and France.

Pearl Harbor
The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor in attempt to weaken the United States navy and air force. This occurred in under two hours and severely weakened the Pacific fleet. Other military bases were also bombed.

After Japan bombed Pearl Harbor, the united states declares war on Japan and Germany, and Germany declares war on America. This took place only 4 days after the bombing.

After surrender, approximately 75,000 Filipino and American troops were marched to a camp. They were subjected to harsh weather and treatment during this time.

Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
When German troops came into the ghetto to deport survivors, they revolted. It didn't last long though, it was suppressed within a few days, leaving the ghetto in ruins.

During Operation Overlord, allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy to reclaim Nazi occupied areas. This was considered the largest amphibious attack and was successful.
