    D-Day was the allied invasion of Normandy. D-Day was one of the bloodiest battles of world war 2. The Allies droppwd the 101st Airborne behind enemy lines to take out key targets. They then sent about 160,000 infantry in to storm the beach. Although losing many men, the Allies took the beach and changed the momentum of the war drastically.

    The Battle of the Bulge was Hitler's final offensive in the war. He surrounded Bastogne, Belgium and launched a huge offensive against the Allies. Being one of the bloodiest battles of the war, the Allies lost about 80,000 troops. However the U.S general George S. Patton stopped the offensive and ended the war against Germany.

    An American B-29 bomber nicknamed "Enola Gay" dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima. The bomb instantly wiped out 90% of the city and killed over 80,000 people instantly, killing more from radiation. A second bomber then dropped another bomb on Nagasaki, killing about 40,000 people. This was the U.S's follow up of Peral Harbor and showed that the U.S should not be messed with.
