    The U.S. was the only country that stood in the way from the Japanese building an Asian Empire. The U.S. stopped exporting oil to Japan. Since the U.S. stood in the way and stooped exporting oil they wanted to weekend the Pacific Fleet, so they bombed Pearl Harbor, where most of the fleet was.
