Japanese Invasion of China
The second time Japan has tried to invade China. They took over a bit of territory in China and some parts of Russia. They weren't unsuccessful in their endeavors but it isn't like they were steamrolling completely through either. -
German invades Poland
Germany wanted to invade and conquer it for living space of Germany. It was eventually taken over. It remained under German control until 1945 -
German Blitzkrieg
German term for Lighting War. It worked very well for the Germans. It was shock and awe tactics and one second all is peaceful and next they're all up in your face dropping bombs and artillery on you and they're kicking down your door. -
Operation Barbarosa
A giant invasion force was just thrown at the Sovet Union. 3 million German soldiers.150 divisions,and 3 thousand tanks. they were putting up a good fight up until winter rolled around. Germany was then fighting a two front battle that made it almost inposible to send supplies to their trops. This falure was a critical turning point in the war. -
Pearl Harbor
The Japanese attacked and targeted several ships. They sunk quite a few ships but weren't as successful as they wanted. The US Government declared war upon Japan the day after. -
The Wannsee Conference
Where senior officials of Nazi Germany met. It was to discuss the final solution which was the annihilation of European jews. Some participants were already aware of the mass killing of Jews. -

British bombers raided Hamburg,Germany. They raided at night,while The US bombed it during the day. -

A desperate attack by the Germans.They wanted to split the allies by blitzing them.They surprised them by taking on the appearance of a bulge. -

Amphibious attack on Iwo Jima. Stemmed from a need for a base near the Japanese coast.The marines eventually won. -
The Battle of Okinawa
Last and biggest of the Pacific island battles of WW2.The entire campaign involved the 287,000 troops of the U.S. against 130,00 Japanese. We were defending a very important base which was vital for a potential invasion of Japan.
