    When President Truman was warned that the attepmt to invade Japan would result in the deaths of many Americans, he ordered atomic bombs to be dropped inorder to bring the war to an end quickly. On this day, the American bomber named Enola Gay dropped a bomb over a city in Japan called Hiroshima.
