    Japan invades China and keeps control of cetrain cities in the area for nearly a decade. Created a puppet state inside of China that they kept occupied till the end of WW2

    The Japenese, over a six week period, murdered over 300,000 chinese civilians in the capital of the republic of China. It has made relations between the two countries very rough as there is little to no trust between the two groups anymore.

    Ribbentrop/Molotov Pact
    A treaty of non-aggression between Germany and the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics. Only remained in tact for less than two years as Germany attacked forces in Eastern Poland.

    Despite gong against the intrest of the people, Hitler invaded Poland and gained the territory by reaching the Soviet Union. They remanined under German control until 1945.

    Nazi Germany fought the soviets for control of the city of Stalingrad. The soviets successfully defended the city and forced the Germany to retreat their forces.

    Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

    Jewish resistance rose throughout tenements in Poland, which was occupied by Germany at the time. Over 300,000 Jews were mudered or deported in this ghetto alone. This prevented, somewhat, the final push of the axis powers to take the Soviets down.

    With the successful invasion, Italy was forced to become a puppet to the forces of the Axis powers. 150,000 allied foces invaded over a span of three days, forcing Mussolini to raise the white flag once again to the Allied powers.

    A battle in which Marines gained control of the island of Iwo Jima from the Japanese forces. It was 575 miles from the coast of Japan, giving the allies an easier access point to the mainland.

    The U.S. and the allies announced that the the axis powers had surrendered and the war in Europe was effectivly over. This made the people rejoice, but also look at Japan as the main source of conflict.

    The document in which Japan formally surrenders, thus effectively ending the war in the Pacific.

    Harry S. Truman ordered two bombs to be dropped, one on Hiroshima, and one on Nagasaki. This was used as a way to end the war by showing the rest of the world what we are capable of. It created a lot of lasting health and mental issues in Japan as well as making the rest of the world hungry for the new powerful technology.
