    Germany Opens Dachau
    Adolf Hitler became chancellor of Germany on January 30, 1933. In march of the same year Dachau concentration camp was opened in the town of Dachau just outside Munich. This was significant to the war because it was the first Nazi's concentration camp & it was Hitler's first big order of almost gloating for becoming chancellor. He had total power over Germany.

    German Troops- Rhineland
    Hitler sends militaryforces the Rhineland. While doing so he ends up breaking the Treaty of Versailles & the Locarno Pact. This is signififcant to the war because it was an important factor in the outbreak of Europe.
  • Mussolini Italy- Ethiopia

    Mussolini Italy- Ethiopia
    A border incident between Ethiopia Italy gave German General Mussolini an excuse to intervene with the war. This was significant to the war because Ethiopia was one of the very few independent states that were European.

    In March of 1939, German troops were forced into Czechoslovakia. This was significant to the war because it proved that Hitler had been lying at Munich, & that the appeasement was ended.

The campaign ended on 6 October with This was a significant event during WWII because it ended up dividing and annexing the whole of Poland under the terms of the German-Soviet Frontier Treaty.

    The "lightning war" was a military tactic that was made by Germany & ended up heading the invasion of Belguim, the Netherlands, & France. This was significant to the war because it resulted in short military campaigns.

    Operation Barabossa was ultimately the invasion of the Soviet Union. It was also part of Hitler's execution of the Jews. It was his intention to clear soace in the East as well. This was significant to the war because it resulted in many deaths as well as the desruction of the Soviet Union along with Communism.

    Japan attacks the Naval Base at Pearl Harbor with planes. The bombing ended up killing more than 2,300 Americans, & destroyed the American battleship U.S.S. The significance of the Attack on Pearl Harbor to the war was the United State's reason to participate in the war.

    The suprise attack on Pearl Harbor by Japan is what reasoned the Unites States into battling alongside Europe & the Pacific in WWII. This was significant to the war because it was the beginning of the Unites States revenge act and the realization that Germany & Japan ETC. were all trying to take over the world.

    Singapore Falls- Japan
    The fall of Singapore to Japan was one of the largest surrenders led by the British in all of world war history. It was fought in Southern- Eastern Asia. And in Febuary of 1942 the Empire of Japan invaded the "Singapore" steonghold of Britain. This was significant to the war because it resulted in the Empire of Japan'e military forces defeating the combined British, Indian, Australian, and Malayan garrison all on one battle
  • U.S. Cracks Codes

    U.S. Cracks Codes
    In December of 1942, Captain Joseph J. Rochefort was the main leader of the key Station H.Y.P.O. codebreakers. They were finally able to decipher Japanese messages about the Midway Battle. Japanese naval codes were unlike German codes in World War II, & it was a suprise to them that any American coorps would be abke to solve the secret military codes.

    On the last day of January,the very few last German troops in Soviet city of Stalingrad surrendered to the Red Army.The attack occured in the first place despite the terms of the Nazi & Soviet Pact during the same year. This was significant because it resulted in ending one of the biggest battles of World War II

    The invasion of Notmandy, or "D-Day" occured June 6th during 1944. Our Allied Forces consisting of of Britain, America, Canada, and France proceeded to attack German forces on the coast of Normandy, which is lovated in France. This was significant to the war because the Allies gained another victory & this became the turning point for WW2 in Europe.

    The Liberation of Paris was actions preformed by Nazi's military that took place during August of 1944. Most people today argue that it wasn't necessarily the most dramatic or the most important event of WW2. However, it was significant to the war because German Nazi's ended up surrendering to the French Capital & further moving the World War to a final close.

    American Navy Victory/ Battle of Midway
    The Unites States American Navy increasedgreatly throughtout WW2. A perfect example of this occured at the Battle of Midway when we became victorious on our military force actions against Germany overseas. This was esspecially significant to the war because it was ultimately the biggest turning point of the Pacific war.
  • Big Three- Potsdam

    Big Three- Potsdam
    the Potsdam Conference was held near Berlin, & was the last of the World War II meetings held by the “Big Three”. These were heads of government who recognized the extent of Soviet controllling the government. When the Big Three came together for the conference it significantly meant the mark to the end of the negotiated terms for the end of World War II.

    On the day of August 6 the United States, in final attempts in military actions dropped an atomic bomb, who many called "Little Boy", on Hiroshima located in Japan. This was one of the only uses of nuclear weapons have been in WW2. This was significant to the end of the war because it caused Japan to surrender to the allied forces that were alongside the U.S. and to bring the World Wars to an end.
  • Nagasaki

    Nagasaki
    Just three days after the Hiroshima Bombing, the second American atomic bomb was dropped in Japan, this time in the city of Nagasaki. This was the second and only other use of nuclear weapons during World War 2. The significance of the bombing during the war was to push Japanese military forces to surrender to the war, and bring it to a final end.

    Germny's dictator, Hitler, had created the "Nazi Population Policy" that sparked the genocide of the European Jews. Although the Jewish race/religion was said to experience the most of the death and destruction, Hitler was set on demolishing Gypsies and any type of person who was not "perfect" in God's image or in the dictators eyes. This was a significant role played in WW2 because the Jewish people were an inferior race al throughout Europe and was unfortunately Hitler's target during the War
