Japenese INvasion of ChinaThe Japanese infulence on China had started in 1931. Japan had started to take control over some areas of China. What happpened on July 7, 1937 was; China began a full-scale ristance to the Japanese. It happened because they were tired of Japanese taking over their land. A stalemate happened after the Chinese revolted aginst the Japanese and they eventually won back their land when the war ended. -
Germany's Invasion of Poland
Germans Invade PolandGermany and Russia both invaded Poland. They split the country in half. This invasion happened because HItler thought that his German people need more "livingspace". Hitler was also planning on enslaving the native Salvs that lived in Poland. The effects of the envsion were that British, Austria, New Zeland and India declared war on Germany. -

German BlitzkriegThe word "Blitzrkrieg" means lightening war. The Germans used this tatic to invade Poland, Belgium, Netherlands, and France. The Blizrkrieg happened because it caused enemy troops to become diorganized and it involved the used of mobile forced and locally concentrated firepower. By using the Blizkrieg method German quickly took over much of Europe. -

Fall of ParisThe Fall of Paris was when German Troops occupied Paris. The Germans wanted to gain territory. The occupation of Paris caused Germany to gain land. Canada had sent people to fight and the US had promised supplies and support. -

However he underestimated the stregnth of the Soviet Union. The effects were that Germany was now fighting a war at two fronts, which was not a good thing for them. -

Pearl HarborPearl Harbor was when the Japanese attacked the Americans. The bombing lasted nearly two hours and destroyed 20 ships and nearly 300 aircraft. More that 2,000 americans died and over 1,000 were wounded. The attack happened because the Japanese and Americans had been edging towards war for a long time. The Americans didn't like that Japan was trying to take over China. Because of the attack the US entered WW2. -
Wannsee Confrence
Wannsee ConfrenceThe Wannsee Confrence was a confrence that was held by German officials in the suburb of Wannsee, near Berlin. The confrence took place so the leaders of Germany could discuss the final solution to the "Jewish question in Europe". The "final solution" was to exterminate the Jews by sending them to concentration camps and extermination camps.The effects of the Confrence was that more Jews were killed. -

Battle of MidwayThe Battle of Maidway was one of the most dicisive naval battles of WW2. The US was able decipher Japans code, so they knew about the attack. The US infliceted heavy damage on the Japanese naval fleet and in winning the battle gained an offiensive position. The battle happened because Japan wanted control of Midway. -

Battle of StalingradThe Battle of Staligrad was when the Soviets successfully defended the city of Stalingrad. The battle happpened because the enemies wanted to defeat the Russians. It was one of the bloodiest battles in history. -

Operation GomorrahOperation Gomorrah was when the British and Americans bombed Hamburg, Germany. The British bombed the city at night and the Americans bombed the city by day. The attacked happened because the British wanted revenge for the bombings that Germany did to them. The effects were more than 1500 German citizens were killed. -

The invasion happened in oreder to try and defeat the Germans. The invasion was one of the largest and required extensive planning. The effects of this battle were; by late 1944 all of France had been liberated, and in just a few more months the war was ended. -

Liberation of Concentration CampsSoviet soldiers were the first to liberate concentraion camps. The entered the Majdanek camp in Poland on July 13th, 1944. There were many other liberations.These liberations happened to free people from unfair treatment. These liberations allowed for the firts time the public to see what really went on in concentration camps. -
