    Japanese Invasion of Manchuria (Manchuko)
    Japan invades China in hopes to gain more natural resources since they were being over populated in their island countries. This event proved how the league of nations was not very succesful. The league wanted Japan to leave Manchuria as a semi-idenpendent country. Japan refused by leaving the League of Nations and occupied Manchuria claiming they were protecting it. The League could not stop trade with Japan fearing for their own economy so the problem was left unsolved.
  • Hitler made Chancellor of Germany

    Hitler made Chancellor of Germany
    Hitler became Chancellor of Germany. At first Hitler was appointed Chancellor by President Paul Von Hindenburg only to keep Hitler and the Nazi party in check. This only backfired when President Hinderburg died and Hitler took the position of president as well as keeping his Chancellorship. He combined the two positions into the Fuhrer, the supreme leader of Germany. With this position Hitler was able to start WWII.
  • The Munich Pact

    The Munich Pact
    The League of Nations way of trying to appease to Hitler's demands in an attempt to avoid war. This led to the Germans to have the right to annex part of Czechoslovakia. This also ultimately leads to Hitler realizing that the League of Nations will not punish him harshly, declare war on him, if he were to start his conquest.
  • Kristallnacht

    Kristallnacht
    Kristallnacht refers to the wave of anti jewish actions that took place in November 9, 1938. Kristallnacht owes its name to the shards of glass that lined the streets of Germany-broken glass from the windows of synagogues, homes, and Jewish-owned businesses plundered and destroyed during the violence. This showed how Hitler tried to use the Jewish people as the cause of Germany's problems, since the the event was triggered by the death of a German embassy by a jewish person.

    Invasion of Poland
    Poland was annexed into Germany. Germany attacked Poland after signing a non-aggresion act with Poland. This should of signified that Germany is not very trustworthy (Russia). This invasion was also the tripwire that set of WWII.
  • Dunkirk

    Dunkirk
    The Advancing German Army trapped British and France soldiers on the beaches of Dunkirk. Operation dynamo was an operation that asked any worthy sea vessel to be used to help save the soldiers. The direct outcome of this is Hitler's failure to completely destroy the British and France soldiers as they retreated causing more than 330,000 soldiers to be able to fight again.
  • Attack on Pearl Harbor

    Attack on Pearl Harbor
    The attack on pearl harbor was a surprise attack conducted by the Imperial Japanese Navy against U.S. naval bas at Pearl Harbor, Hawaii. The attack was caused by the U.S. cutting of thier oil trade with Japan. A direct outcome of this is America joined the war.
  • Bataan Death March

    Bataan Death March
    Due to the surrender and retreat of General McArthur. The Japanese weren't prepared to hold all the prisoners or soldiers that General McArthur left behind. The American/ Filipino soldiers were forced to march 63 miles through mosquitoes infested jungle environment with poor nourishment and little medical help. The most positive outcome of this is most likely General McArthur's promise to come back.
  • Battle of Midway

    Battle of Midway
    A decisive battle against the U.S. and Japan's navy. The battle was won by the U.S. due to the U.S. being able to break Japan's codes and were able to know their plans. This victory gave the U.S. the initiaive over Japan who had the initiative through out the war. Most of all U.S.'s seemingly little lost of carriers gave them the ability to go on complete offense.
  • D-Day

    D-Day
    Codenamed Operation Overlord was the invasion of the beach of Normandy, France. The massive amphibious assault caused the liberation of Western Europe from German control. This was a huge boost of morale since it was also called the beginning of the end of the war in Europe.
  • Battle of the Bulge

    Battle of the Bulge
    The last German offensive attack against the advancing allies. This was the Germans last ditch effort to try and break and separate the allies; to do this they're ultimate goal was to capture Antwerp to separate British and American soldiers and cutting the allies of from a much needed seaport. Ultimately the push failed and they allies pushed the Germans even deeper into Germany.
  • Yalta Conference

    Yalta Conference
    A second meeting Between Stalin, Churchill, and FDR. They met to discuss what would happen after the war. FDR established the United Nations during this meeting. Another outcome is that Germany would also be divided into three zones which Russia, Britain, and France would oversee. Russia agreed to help America fight with Japan.
  • V E Day

    V E Day
    This day signafied the victory in Europe. This event signafied that the U.S. can now focus its efforts in the pacific.
  • The Bombing of Hiroshima

    The Bombing of Hiroshima
    Japan refused to surrender which caused the US to use the atomic bomb in hopes to reduce Allied casualties to ending the war. A direct outcome of this is the race to develope nuclear powered weapons between the countries of the world.
  • V J Day

    V J Day
    The day Japan agreed to surrender. This signafied the end of WWII.
