    Japanese imperial army marched into china's capital city of Nanking and proceeded to murder 300,000 civilians. They wanted to control all of china and the Rape of Nanking was one of the battles that was fought. They agreed to a safety plan were refugees were not attacked.

    Eisenhower was in charge of operation over lord. Operation over lord was deception operation intended to make the Germans think the invasion was going to happen in a different place then it actually was. The date was suppose to be June 5th but it actually happened June 6th. 156,000 allied troops including the British, Canadians and the US. By June 11th the beaches were fully secured.

    They entered Auschwitz to find tons of sick and exhausted Jews. They freed everyone and gave them cloths, shoes and food. The Nazis attempted to get rid of all the evidence of their crime but it was far to big for it to just disappear. The prisoners had mixed feelings, some were overjoyed to be free and others felt guilty of their survival.

    Harry Truman had to decide to use the atomic bomb to make Japan surrender unconditionally. On August 6th a plane called the Enola Gay dropped an atomic bomb on the city of Hiroshima. Two days later on August 9th a second atomic bomb was dropped on Nagasaki. On August 14th the Japanese surrendered.
