    This Act lifted the arms embargo and put all trade with belligerent nations under the terms of “cash-and-carry.” The ban on loans remained in effect, and American ships were barred from transporting goods to belligerent ports.

    A miracle evacuation as 100,000s of Allied troops primarily British, were stranded on a beach surrounded by Nazi troops. They were able to escape through the English-French channel as the British commanded as many ships as they could to rescue the soldiers.

    The French appeared to have a strong army yet in a mere 6 weeks the French fell to the Germans. They were forced to sign an armistice in the same place Germany had to sign the treaty ending world war 1.
