    Germany attacked in the west to believe that German forces would attack through central Belgium as though they did in World War I. The main German attack went through the Ardennes Forest in southeastern Belgium and northern Luxembourg.     Germany bombed an attack on the city of London. The British Royal Air force took to the sky and scattered the German bombers. Shot down a great numbers of German planes.     Pearl Harbor, U.S. naval base near Honolulu, Hawaii. Japanese fighter planes descended on the base, where they managed to destroy or damage nearly 20 American naval vessels. 2,400 American died on attack, and 1,000 people were wounded.     Operation Barbarossa , a code name for the German invasion of the Soviet Union. The German troops failed to defeat the Soviet forces in the campaign. With Germany had signed a non-aggression pact with the USSR in 1939 both still had suspicion for one another, as Hitler had his mind set on the Soviet Resources. Some 775,000 German casualties, and more than 800,00 Soviets had been killed.

    Japanese fighter planes and bombers flew to Pearl Harbor and attacked. Dropping bombs and torpedoes on the war ships forcing the US fighter planes to stay on ground and not be able to defend.   • Bataan Death March

    Bataan Death March
    The Bataan Death March, Japanese forced 76,000 captured Allied soldiers (Filipinos and Americans) to march 80 miles across the Bataan Peninsula. Soon after the bombing of Pearl Harbor, Japan took over of Southeast Asia. After months of fighting the Japanese defeated the U.S. and Filipino army on Bataan.     United States launched its first attack on the Japanese home islands. Japan hoped to trap a number of U.S. aircraft carriers as a plan, however the U.S knew of their plan and prepared their own trap for the Japanese.     Battle of Stalingrad
    German air force bombed the Volga River, then to the city of Stalingrad. Much to Stalingrad dismay, Soviets troops hid over the city, in buildings and sewers.   • Warsaw Ghetto Uprising

    Warsaw Ghetto Uprising
    The Warsaw ghetto uprising began after German troops and police entered the ghetto to deport its surviving inhabitants. The Germans had destroyed and left the area in ruins, surviving residents were deported to concentration camps or killing centers.     United States invaded Normandy along with the allied troops. General Dwight D. Eisenhower plans were made to land in Normandy, west of where the Germans troops and artillery were built up.     The Germans launch the last major offensive of the war, in attempt to push the Allied front line west from northern France to northwestern Belgium. The Germans created a area around the Ardennes forest in pushing through the American defensive line. The Germans lost many troops and equipment that forced no attack on Allied forces.   • Liberation of Concentration Camps

    Liberation of Concentration Camps
    As a final stage of war, the Soviet soldiers needed to first liberate concentration camps prisoners. Found nothing but hundreds of sick and exhausted prisoners,forcing the Germans to leave behind these prisoners. The Americans were responsible for liberating Buchenwald and Dachau. Allied troops and physicians provided nourishment for the surviving prisoners.   • Bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki

    The U.S. Air Force dropped two atomic bombs on Japanese cities of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.     The U.S. planes and battleships may have killed the Japanese, in order to land. The Japanese dug tunnels under the ground and hiding places all over the island for protection. Japanese would move tunnel to tunnel all around areas on the island.
