Adolf Hitler is named chancellor of Germany. They believed by doing this is would create stability for the country. This was a cruicial turning point that would change history forever. -
Numberg Race Laws Eacted
Stripping Jews of citizenship and most Civil Rights. This took away almost all freedom of Jews. Nazis could be free to do whatever to Jews at this point. Such as not let them work, burn down their mosques, and the start of Consentration Camps. -
FDR Elected President
Roosevelt was elected President for his 2nd term. Reelected by comfortable margins in 1936, 1940 and 1944, FDR led the United States from isolationism to victory over Nazi Germany and its allies in World War II. -

In China, Nationalists and Communists agree to combine forces against Japanese. This frustrated the Japanese and created many problems. -
Germany's Invasion of Poland
On September 1, 1939, Germany invaded Poland. Polands troops were defeated in weeks of the invasion with more than 2,000 tanks and over 1,000 planes. Britain and France had declared war on Germany on September 3, 1939. Eastern Poland was invaded by the Soviet Union on September 17, 1939. Nazi Germany attacked the remainder of Poland when it invaded the Soviet Union in June 1941. Poland remained under German control until January 1945. -

Winston Churchill had tried for days to convince the French government to hang on, not to sue for peace, & that America would enter the war as support. Roosevelt replied that the United States was prepared to send material aid & was willing to have that promise published, but Secretary of State Cordell Hull opposed. He knew Hitler would consider it as a declaration of war. -

April 30, Hitler commits suicide, shortly before the fall of Berlin and surrender of German forces in Europe. This created kaos in Germany but it also lead to the soulutions of many porblems the Germans faced because of Hitler. -
Bombing of Hiroshima
USA develops the atomic bomb, and successfully uses it in August to force the surrender of Japan. As retaliation from Pearl Harbor.
