  • Rape of Nanking (1937)

    Rape of Nanking (1937)
    To break the spirit of Chinese resistance, Japanese General Matsui ordered the distruction of Naking. The city was practicaly burned to the ground. 150,000 war prisoners were massacured and another 50,000 men were killed. Atleast 20,000 woman and childeren were raped of all ages. Many were kiled or mutilated during the actions.
  • Fall of Paris (1940)

    Fall of Paris (1940)
    German troops stormed Paris. Making a curfue for all of the citizens at 8 p.m. By the time Germans came through, about two million people fled Paris. The Gestapo arrested, interrogations, and spyed on the remaining people in Paris.
  • Pearl Harbor (1941)

    On December 7th the Japanese launched a suprise attack on the US naval forces in Hawii. The attack lasted only two hours. They destroyed about twenty United States vessels. More than two thousand people were killed that day.
  • Bataan Death March (1942)

    The Bataan Death March took place on April 9th, 1942. Appromimately 75,000 Filipino and American troops were forced to march from Bataan, sixty-five miles to prison camps. The march took place in intence heat and harsh treatmeant from Japanese guards. Thousands died on the march from Bataan.
  • Warsaw Ghetto Uprising (1943)

    From April 19th to May 16th of 1943 many people who lived in the Jewish ghetto started a revolution against deportation to extermination camps. Due to this the Nazi's created areas les than a square mile and kept thousands of people in their. They put up walls up to keep them insidethe walls. If they were to escape they were shot on the spot. The amount of food aloud inside the walls were decided by the Nazis. Thousands of people died from lack of nutrition.
  • D - Day (Normandy Invasion - 1944)

    June 4th, 1944 U.S, General Dwight D. Eisenhower the commander of allied forces in Europe gave the okay for the invasion, called Operation Overloard. The largest in history. 176,000 troops were being shipped to France. At roughtly six am the invasion began. Over 2,000 troops were lost that day.
  • Dropping The Atomic Bomb (1945)

    In 1945 America developed the very first atomic bomb. At 8;45 appromixmeatly the first atomic bomb to ever be dropped was flowen by a B-29 called the Enola Gay dropped the first atomic bomb on Hiroshima. The bomb killed over 8,000 people in a matter of seconds, of the bombs being dropped.
  • VJ Day (1945)

    On Auguest 14th, 1945 the Japanese had surrendered to the allies. V-J Day is also known as Victory over Japan day. The announcement to the White House was a good one. They had been waiting for the Japaniese to surrender ever sense Pear Harbor took place.
  • VE Day (1945)

    Also known as Victory in Europe Day, was a day of celebration. The day Germany surrendered, after the latter had lost more than 8,000 men, and the Germans even more men were lost. The main concern by the Germans were the freeing of their prisoners. Soon they were released, over 13,000 prisoners were sent back to Great Brittan.
  • Potsdam Declaration (1945)

    The Potsdam Declaration was where the Japanese is a statement that called for the surrender of all Japanses armed forces during World War Two. All of their solders were no longer to fight. The Japanese were tooken out of the war.
