The entire Louisiana Purchased was bought for $15 mil, which is just 4 cents an acre. With the purchase of the cheap Louisiana Purchase,

    The War of 1812
Called by some the Revolutionary War Part 2, the War of 1812 was a strange war, but good things came out of it that strengthened America. This war was fought between the British and the Americans. Neither side one, so a stalemate was issued. Even though it was a tie, the U.S. still gained a sense of nationalism becuase of the common cause they all had rallied behind. • The Florida Territory

    The Florida Territory
Still entrapped in their quest for more land, America got the Florida territory. The way it was taken, however, is very interesting. Recently, Seminole indians had been helping escaped slaves. Andrew Jackson was sent to stop this, but ended up also capturing multiple Spanish forst and overthrowing their governor. The U.S. then 'bough' the land from the Spanish with the Adams-Onis treaty. Becuase of Andrew Jackson, America has the Florida territory today.

    comprimising with their enemy, Britian.
  • Texas

    Texas
As we all know, everything is bigger in Texas. How this state became a state however, is quite an interesting story. With new colonies in the territoy, the Mexican army decided to attack The Alamo becuase of recent protests, killing hundreds of Texians. Sam Houston then led an army to fight back, and becmae the President of the newly founded Republic of Texas. President Polk then allowed them to join the Union. Texas's story, with murder and being its a country for a while, is awe inspiring.
  • The Oregon Territory

    The Oregon Territory
The Oregon Territory, yet again a fight for land between Britian and the U.S. In this fight, The U.S. wanted this land becuase of their idea of Manifest Destiny, and they just wanted more land. America wanted all the land to the latitude-longitude lines 54'40. This became a slogan of "54'40 or Fight!". Since Britian didn't want to fight America again, they gave up the land, but not before comprimising it down to 49'. After it was all over, America gained the Oregon territory and ended up
