series of agreements whereby Germany, France, Belgium, Great Britain, and Italy guaranteed peace in western Europe mutually. I think this is significant because there are seven agreements in this Pact that could secure the states. -
The Spanish Monarchy is Overthrown and The Republic is Born

The Spanish Nationalists Begin the Spanish Civil War
military revolt against the Republican government of Spain, supported by fearful elements within the country. When an initial military failed to win control of the entire country, and a terribly bloody war broke out. I believe this is significant so that they could fight and try to win thue war for their country leading them toward success. -
Spanish Nationalists Bomb Guernica
The German bombers appeared in the skies over Guernica in the late afternoon of April 26, 1937 and immediately transformed the sleepy Spanish market town into an everlasting symbol of the cruelty of war. I think this is imortant because it becomes a peice of history leading to a never ending symbol. -
Spanish Civil War Ends
In Spain, the Republican defenders of Madrid raise the white flag over the city, bringing to an end the bloody three-year Spanish Civil War. I think this is importat because then we know who won and who was able to succeed in the lives of the Spanish.
