ZOUERATE MINE The Zouerate mine is located at Mauritania (country on Atlantic Coast of Africa). It is famous for iron mining. The possibility of mining was discovered in the late 11th century. The mine was firstly operated and controlled by European interested mining companies in 1958 and in late 1974 the mining company was handed to the Mauritanian Government. The end date of the project is 1975.
