    Lousiana Purchase
    In the year 1803 America bought the Louisiana Purchase from the French. Originally only wantingto buy a harbor on the land we got much more. For $15 million we got the whole Louisiana Territory! For about 4 cents an acre we doubled the size of the United States at the time, in total an extra 828,000 miles. Later that year America sent explorers to explore and record anything they found.
  • The Corps of Discovery

    The Corps of Discovery
    In the year 1804 a small group of explorers were sent into the recently bought Louisiana Territory to explore it. Among the group were Louis and clark. Only a few days in the exploration could have ended when one of the two almost died. Towards the middle of the venture they were forced to stay at a Indian tribe's camp. At the end of the winter they left but with thm they had taken Sacagawea she helped them make peace with other indian tribes and help them survive.

    The war of 1812
    Also known as the war of bad communication this war was fought between the Americans and the British. This was because we wanted to stay out of the conflict between them and the French, so we continued to trade with both of them and that angered both sides and eventually the British decided to fight us. The final battle of the war, The Battle of New Orlanes was fought after the the war ended hence the name the war f bad communication.

    Future president Andrew Jackson was sent to the Florida Territory to subdue Seminole raiders and capture ecaped slaves. After Andrew Jackson did this he continued to attack Florida and try to capture it. First we tried to buy the Floida Territory so we could have more land but the Spanish refused. This angered the Spanish and caused a war. This war resuted us buying the Florida territory for a lower price than origionally offered. This feat gained fame for Andrew Jackson.

    Stating that any European powers may not come to America was what the document said. The real reason is so we could eliminate any possible compitition from North and South americaso we can control everything that happens. this allowed us to stay out of any more wars that were happening outside of our continent.
  • The Indian Removal Act & Trail of Tears

    The Indian Removal Act & Trail of Tears
    This bill signed by president Andrew Jackson removed Indian tribes from thier land, including the five civilised ones (Chickasaw, Choctaw, Seminole, Creek, and Cherokee). These tribes were forced to move along a path called the trail of tears. This was a long path along which mane old and young Native American people died, unfortunately they were not laied to rest properly because of them being forced to move along the trail.
  • Texas

    Texas
    Texas used to be a part of Mexico until American people started to inhabit it and decided to leave. this caused a war between the pople of Texas and the Mexican army. The conflict began because the settelers refused to follow a pecified faith and not have slaves in Texas. The frist battle fought over Texas was the Alamo unfortunately everyone was slaughtered. But in the end Texas won it's indipendence and joined America.
  • Mexican American War & Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo

    Mexican American War & Treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo
    This war fought betwwen the Mexicans and the Americans was fought because we offered to bu the land they had for a high price. Because the Mexicans refused we went to war and beat them preety badly. Our offer still stood to buy the land but for a much lower price of $15 million. This transaction was made through the treaty of Guadalupe Hidalgo.
  • Oregon Territory

    Oregon Territory
    54-40 or fight is the slogan used against the brittish when we threatened to go to war over the Oregon Territory. This threat allowed us to strike fear into the hearts of the British soldiers, so they would be open to negoation. Our President at the time James K. Polk was ready to fight to gail land for the United States, and after long negoations a comprimise was made to have America take the 49 degree line.
