In 1783 the Treaty of Paris ended the war. Great Britain was forced to recognize the independence of the 13 colonies of the United States. But On July 4, 1776, the Congress adopted the Declaration of Independence, in which the colonies declared their freedom from British rule. -

Although the Convention was hastily organized and hardly publicized, over 300 men and women came to Seneca Falls, New York to protest the mistreatment of women in social, economic, political, and religious life." -
Compromise of 1850
The compromise of 1850 was a series of bills passed to prevent conflict (such as the Civil War) between the slave and free states. It didn't work well long-term, but it wasn't really expected to. The five bills were originally presented as one, but very few people in the Senate were in favor of all of the bills. So the larger bill was broken up into five smaller ones-

Civil war
This is the beginning of the civil war this is when it was offical that they was in war. Hostilities began on April 12, 1861, when Confederate forces attacked a U.S. military installation at Fort Sumter in South Carolina. Lincoln responded by calling for a volunteer army from each state to recapture federal property. -
Ending of the Civil War
Confederate resistance collapsed after Lee surrendered to Grant at Appomattox Court House on April 9, 1865.
