  • First Web Browser

    World Wide Web was the first web browser in existence created in 1990 by Tim Berners-Lee. This was the start of a domino effect which would lead to the .com explosion later on as people had seen how useful web browsers can be.
  • SMS (Texting)

    The SMS concept was first developed in the Franco-German GSM cooperation in 1984 by Friedhelm Hillebrand and Bernard Ghillebaert. But the first actual text message was sent in 1992. This allowed the average joe to send messages to one another across the world

    Invented in 1995 by Sony Let us transfer data onto a disk and play things like videos, games, and music
  • MP3 Player

    The first portable MP3 player was launched in 1997 by SaeHan Information Systems. This let people listen to songs on a portable device which had never been done so effectively before.
  • DVR

    In the late 90s, Anthony Wood and his company ReplayTV ushered in the era of on-demand viewing with introduction of the DVR, a box that allowed consumers to record and watch shows when they wanted.
