    The end of the journey across the Atlantic. It landed in Le Bourget Aerodrome in Paris, France.

    Herbert Hoover became the 30th president of the Unites States.

    The Wall Street Crash of 1929. It was one of the most devasting crashes in stock market which caused the Great Depression.

    A time of major dust storms that were causing farming and agricultural damage to Americans.
  • Hawley-Smoot Tariff Act

    This act, sponsered by Reed Smoot and Willis C. Hawley, was an act that raised tariffs on over 20,000 imported goods.
  • Bonus Army March

    Over 43,000 people marched, including veterans and their families, and protested in Washington because they wanted immediate cash payment redemption.
  • President Franklin D. Roosevelt is Elected

    He became the 32nd president of the United States.
  • Prohibition Ends

    President Franklin Roosevelt signed the Volstead Act which ended prohibition, and allowed the sale and production of alcohol.
  • Civilian Conservation Corps

    The CCC was a program for men that provided easy jobs for them during the Great Depression.
  • Tennesse Valley Authority

    President Franklin Roosevelt signed the TVA act in 1933. The TVA was a corporation that helped provide things such asm, flood control and electricity generation to the Tennessee Area, which was greatly affected by the Great Depression.
  • FDIC

    The FDIC, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, was created by the Glass-Steagall Act of 1933. It guarantees the safety of deposits in member banks.
  • Works Progress Administration

    It was a New Deal agency, that helped employ projects, helped feed children and give them clothing, and benefited rural and Western Populations.
  • Social Security Act

    It was an act that had many social welfare and social insurance programs that were funded by payroll taxes.

    It began with the invasion of Poland by Germany and Slovakia and was caused by the Treaty of Versailles, Hitler's Actions, the failure of appeasement, and the failure of the League of Nations.
