Alexander's first battle with Persia

334 BCE

Alexander crosses Hellespont into Anatolia with the purpose of defeating King Darius III. Darius underestimates him and sends generals to fend him off, but Alexander easily defeats him, establishing his victory over his first battle with Persia.

Alexander's second battle with Persia

333 BCE

Alexander and Darius fight at Issus. Alexander wins using Phalanx formation he used it for almost all his battles .Darius flees but Alexander was able to get a hold of his wife and children

Darius attempts to make a peace treaty

332 BCE

Darius petitions a peace treaty for his wife and children in exchange for half of the Persian kingdom. Alexander refused hence he wanted to conquer all Persia

Alexander's final battle with Persia.

Battle of Gaugamela. The battle was between Macedonians and Persians. Again, Darius saw that he couldn't win and made an attempt to flee. Darius died and Alexander became the king of Persia.

Conquering Egypt

Alexander conquers Egypt. He founded many cities named Alexandria, but the most famous one would become to be in Egypt as a trading center and advanced city. It had one of the largest libraries at that time.

Alexander self-proclaimed himself as the son of Hyperion, making people encouraged to look up to him. People of Egypt did not change religiously or culturally, since Alexander did not influence them in that way.

Alexander's death

324 BCE

Returning to Greece by a warrior's request, Alexander died at the age of 32 in the city of Babylon(Present time- Iraq). He may have died of sickness or poison, it is not confirmed.
