  • Franz Ferdinand is assasinated

    Franz Ferdinand was was an Archduke of Austria-Este Austro Hungarian and Royal Prince of Hungary and of Bohemia. Him and his wife were shot in june of 1914.His Assasination in Sarajevo precipitated Austria Hungary's declaration of war against Serbia.
  • The completion of the Panamal Canal

    The work on the canal began in the year of 1880. It was finally built completley by 1914. By the time it was completd it is a 82 kilometrer ship canal in Panama. It connects to the Atlantic Ocean.
  • United States entry into World War One

    the war first began in the year 1914. The United States wanted to stay neutral, but the pressure got to much to hangle. We entered the war in year 1917.

    The Treaty of Versailles was one of the peace treaties. It was signed on june 28th 1919. Because of this treaty Germany had to exept full responsibility for world war 1.

    The 19th Amendment was the Amendment passed in 1920. This Ammendment was quarenteed that all American women had the right to vote. Congress passed it June 4,1990. It was radified August 18,1920. The U.S. constitution stated "The right of citizens of the United States to vote shall not be denied or abridged by the United States or by any State on account of sex."

    in 1939 dictator Hitler decided to invade Poland. The first attack happened on September 1st. It begun when a German battleship fired at a Polish body of troops.

    The Excutive order was a United States presidential executive order signed and issued during World War II. The order was signed by president Franklin D. Roosevelt. It authorized the Secretary of War to prescribe certain areas as military zones. It was signed in february 1942.

    To prevent communism from South Vietnam taking over, in 1950 U.S. military advisors were sent to Vietnam. At the beginning of the troops being sent to Vietnam the U.S was not as involved as in the early 1960's the number of troops being sent trippled.
