    Britain had declared war on France. Britain wanted control of a valley but the French had already traded with the Indians for the land and built forts there. Benjamin Franklin suggested that the colonies joined together to defeat them but the colonies turned this down.Eventually they defeated them and the war ended with the Treaty of Paris

    The Sugar act was a tax that the British put on the Americans Imported tea and the Americans were outraged. The Americans began to boycott and in the end there was the Boston Tea party. This was an important time in history. This was important because the British used the money to help increase their military.

    The stamp act was a new tax to America. It was forcing the Americans to pay a tax on everything that was printed that they were using. This means there were taxes on Newspapers, licenses, Legal documents, Ship papers, and even things a simple as playing cards. This was important because of how infuriated the Americans were that all these things were being taxed.

    This act was passed so it was easy for the British soldiers to find places to stay while they were in the colonies. This gave the British the right after every place that was offered to them was full they could go into a person's house and kick them out of their bed so the soldiers had a place to sleep. This was important because the Colonists thought it was another way that the king wanted to tax them. This was because they also had to supply them with food and whatnot.

The British demanded the Americans to pay $1 million dollars and if they did not they would not open the port back up. This is important because it was designed to punish America for the Boston tea party. This also came to be one of the intolerable acts that was passed on MARCH 25th 1774

    This was two battles that was a huge turning point to the American Revolution. This is when Britain had finally finished their invasion of Canada. Benedict Arnold Under command of George Washington goes to Block a British Flank in the woods. They fought the British and they lead them to retreating to Saratoga. The significance of this battle was because 5,895 British troops ended up surrendering.

    The Battle of Saratoga was highly noted in France.The French were more than happy to help the Americans and were very happy for their new independence. They envied the Americas because they rebelled against their mother country and they tore up the Treaty of Paris. Benjamin Franklin signed the Treaty of Amity in France. This helped recognize the new freedom of America and it also promoted trade between the countries.

    The battle of Yorktown

    This was another battle Washington was commander of. Washington lead 17,000 troops of French and Continentals. They arrive at Yorktown to meet 9,000 British Troops. Washington's troops were bombarding Cornwallis's troops constantly. Cornwallis surrendered to Washington on the 17th and they formed a official surrender on the 19th but Cornwallis became sick. His right hand man then had to surrender by himself by presenting Cornwallis’s sword.

    General Cornwallis surrendered to Washington at Yorktown because the British could not go on it the war they were outgunned, outmanned, outnumbered and outplanned. The British could not take being fired on Non-stop and had to surrender. He Surrendered to Washington on the 17th of October of 1781 and they planned a formal surrender on the 19th but Cornwallis was sick so his righthand man to surrender Cornwallis’s sword to the Rebel Generals.

    SEPTEMBER 3rd 1783- This day and this treaty is important because it is the document that documents the ending of the Revolutionary war and the New Independence of America.
