    Menes unites Egypt

    Menes was an Egypt pharaoh, which was mostly known for his greatest accomplishment, uniting upper Egypt with lower Egypt and starting the first dynasty. He also influenced god worshiping and human sacrifice. Menes was killed by a hippopotamus.

    Old Kingdom

    The old kingdom was the first period of ancient Egypt. This kingdom is most commonly known as the period of the third dynasty to the sixth dynasty. Also the step pyramid was built in this period of time. This period is also known as the age of the pyramids because they were built a large number in this time.
  • Period: 2055 BCE to 1650 BCE

    Middle Kingdom

    This period is also known as the period of reunification, under the pharaoh Nebhepetre Mentuhotep II, which reigned the 11th dynasty. It is also known as The Period of Reunification because is the period when upper Egypt and Lower Egypt reunited. The 11th dynasty was ruled from Thebes and the 12th was ruled from el-Lisht.

    Hyksos conquer Egypt

    Hyksos find it really easy because the last pharaoh before the conquer didn't had a son to succeed his throne. During this invasion, their capital city, Avaris, was established.

    New Kingdom

    This period is also known as the Egyptian Empire. There were 3 dynasties which were the 18th, 19th and 20th. The last part of this period is also known as Ramesside period because Ramesses founded the 19th dynasty which took place in the last part of this kingdom.

    Reign Tutmose III

    He was the 6th pharaoh of the 18th dynasty. His first 22 years of reign, he was only co-regent with pharaoh Hatshepsut. He was the head of her armies. When he was completely a pharaoh, he raised the largest empire of Egypt. Before he died he named Amenhotep II as his co-regent to be his successor.

    Reign of Hatshepsut

    She was the 5th pharaoh of the 18th dynasty. She was the second female pharaoh of Egypt. She established trade networks and she did many building projects through upper and lower Egypt such as monuments at the Temple of Karnak, Karnak's Red Chapel and other projects which other pharaohs took credit for.

    Reign of Ramses II

    He was also known as Ramesses the Great. He was the 3rd pharaoh of the 19th dynasty. When he was fourteen, his father named him prince Regent. He celebrated fourteen sed festivals, more than any other pharaoh.

    The Persians conquer Egypt in 525 BC. By 404 BC, Egypt was stronger and Persians kings weaker, which lead to Egypts independence.

    Greeks conquer Egypt

    Alexander the Great conquer Egypt in 332 BC, although he respected their old traditions like costumes and religions. He founded the city of Alexandria.
